Rice prices are so low that farmers cannot open their eyes or mouths to pursue this career in any era because they must use fertilizers and medicines for chemical agriculture. The problem is one we’ve heard about until we’re used to.
Encouraging farmers to grow quality rice or organic rice and transition to processing and distribution can help solve sustainable problems. This will help farmers become self-sufficient without systemic or middleman abuse. The Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation pushes forward and finds allies to turn dark purple rice into a farmer-friendly innovation.

Khao Thip Chang Community Enterprise, Hang Chat District, wants to request organic agriculture certification under IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements) standards because of its strong group of over 50 members and willingness to change the rice field to grow organic rice and become entrepreneurs. This began with the development of the internal control system ICS (Internal Control System) to create a system for controlling rice cultivation quality, which will result in a request for IFOAM international organic farming standard certification. Khao Thip Chang Community Enterprise has achieved IFOAM International Organic Standards certification. Expanding into innovative premium health products with many partners is the next big goal.

Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation, Initiative’s Driving Force

The Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation’s project to upgrade rice farmers to community business entrepreneurs for the Khao Thip Chang Community Enterprise Group, Hang Chat District, provides knowledge, develops the ICS (Internal Control System) for recording production data, and certifies production plots to raise cultivation standards to international organic standards (IFOAM).

Furthermore, the foundation supports rice processing tools to ensure quality by improving rice milling machines as well as materials and components, including tools for processing dark rice bran into extracts to add value and elevate farmers to become community business entrepreneurs by improving building structures to comply with FDA standards in order to raise the level of extracts obtained to produce products that meet clear standards.

Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, Academic Mentor

The U Volunteer Project, supported by the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation, invited the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, to jointly research the benefits of anthocyanins extracted from farmers’ dark rice skin and develop products from it. We work with farmer groups to provide knowledge about the production process, control processing quality according to academic principles and standards in the lab, and create a verifiable system so members can continue to operate with the same standards.

In addition to making a contract to purchase organic rice in advance at a fair price so that members can continue organic farming without having to worry about marketing channels and rice prices fluctuating up and down, Salana Organic Village Company (Social Enterprise) Co., Ltd. also joined in upgrading the product by bringing innovative extracts from dark organic rice skin to develop into the organic rice drink product Antho-PLUS+ using 105 organic jasmine rice and anthocyanin extracts from the skin of organic Jasmine Nil Surin rice of the Khao Thip Chang Community Enterprise, Hang Chat District, are produced as ready-to-brew beverages as a product in the health market with benefits that help delay aging, protect the eyes, and help restore the need for healthy alternatives to the target group that is growing in modern times.
