Community Organic Farming System Development Education Project

Ban Nam Om Organic Farming Group Community Enterprise at Thung Kula Rong Hai, Kaset Wisai District, Roi Et Province

Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation, in collaboration with Buriram Rajabhat University’s Department of Social Development, is implementing a project to educate farmers growing organic rice in the northeastern region about the development of community organic farming systems. On July 4-11, 2022, “Community Enterprise, Ban Nam Om Organic Farming Group at Thung Kula Rong Hai, Kaset Wisai District, Roi Et Province” held an activity to return information to the community and summarize lessons learned through knowledge management on organic farming systems management.

This operation allowed students to participate in a project to train and educate farmers on the management of internal control systems (ICS). Following the training, farmers were given an internal control system (ICS) management manual to help them develop and apply for organic agriculture standards in the future.

The next step in the project between Buriram Rajabhat University, the Department of Social Development, and the Suthirat Foundation is to prepare a MOA (Memorandum of Agreement) or a memorandum of agreement to jointly develop teaching and learning curricula “Farmer Development to Social Entrepreneurs” and Commercial Farming for Developers. The curriculum is currently being developed, as is the integration of teaching and learning. The implementation of this project is regarded as a new era of work, based on the formation of cooperation networks and social partners, as well as fine-tuning the way of thinking in order to achieve common goals.
