Renovation of the Sujinno Building Project at Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital

Sujinno Building, Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital, is an inpatient ward providing medical services to the public from 17 provinces in the northern region for over 40 years. As it is the main building to accommodate patients who require postoperative care or special medical attention, it is in constant use. As a result, the building is now dilapidated and no longer meets the standard of patient buildings. The medical equipment is also limited and has been in use for a long time.

Therefore, the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation donated 1,000,000 baht to the Suandok Hospital Foundation, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, to be used in the project of Sujinno Building renovation at the Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital, with the hope of improving patient care environment, ensuring the safety of the building, and securing the use of Sujinno Building to care for patients in the future the following medical international standards.

Operational plans for renovation

1. Renovate 106 standard patient rooms that were in crowded condition and 78 unique patient rooms to enhance safety and accommodate future patients

2. Upgrade the Emergency Room to become a One-Stop-Service ER that includes Cardiac Catheterization Lab, examination rooms for stroke and Thrombosis, and an operating room that can treat emergency cases without transferring to enhance the capability of immediately treatment.

3. Public utilities system upgrade as well as procuring sufficient medical equipment and technologically advanced medical devices to support the patient care process for maximum efficiency in the long term.

 Prof. Dr. Bannakij Lojanapiwat, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Chiang Mai University, accepted a donation of 1,000,000 Baht from representatives of the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation. The contribution is designated for the Suandok Hospital Foundation to support the Sujinno Building Renovation Project at Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital. The ceremony took place on July 18, 2022, at Sala Tai Rom Phra Barami, 1st Floor, Sujinno Building.
