Scholarship Program for Underprivileged Children

C.C.F. Foundation for Children and Youth

Poverty in Thailand is a factor that has an impact on Thai children’s education and puts them at risk of missing out on educational opportunities because they cannot afford them. This has an impact on learning, and the number of young people who do not attend school is likely to rise in the coming years.

The C.C.F. Child Development Project currently serves 56,016 children and youth, with 41 percent (approximately 22,967 people) living with their grandparents or great-grandparents. This is because their parents went to work in cities and came to Bangkok, while others were orphaned due to abandonment or divorce.

The remaining 69 percent, or approximately 33,049 people, are living with their father or mother or with relatives, but the spread of the COVID-19 virus has reduced household income. At the same time, many of the CCF Child Development Project’s parents are unemployed and without an income. If children do not receive scholarship support, they are more likely to have to drop out of school.

Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation collaborates with the C.C.F. Foundation to support children and youth under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. In 2020, a 1,000,000 baht donation was made to support 400 scholarships of 2,500 baht each in schools in Nong Bua Lamphu, Sisaket, Sakon Nakhon, Chiang Mai, Phrae, Loei, Mae Hong Son, and Tak.
