Thai Youth Encyclopedia Project

Engaging in reading activities not only improves knowledge and imagination but also stimulates brain function, facilitates the development of reading skills, and encourages critical thinking and analysis. These benefits are particularly significant for children during their formative years, as they contribute to the formation of a productive and contributing society.

Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation has donated Thai Encyclopedia for Youth volumes 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24, 25, 26, 33, and 40 to underprivileged children’s schools overseen by the C.C.F Foundation. 2,000 books for children and youth worth 500,000 baht will be distributed to 200 schools across 21 provinces. They were chosen from schools for underprivileged children that had libraries but lacked knowledgeable books or books used to answer general questions in all fields of study. This is useful for researching basic knowledge, and teachers can use the books to organize reading activities and to further develop students’ academic knowledge.

Reflections from the C.C.F Foundation for Children and Youth “Thai Youth Encyclopedia Project”

The Thai Youth Encyclopedia Project, supported by the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation, aims to expand educational opportunities and provide access to critical texts for children and youth attending rural schools. These students face financial constraints that prevent them from purchasing books in time, including the Thai encyclopedia, which is notably absent.

The C.C.F. Foundation for Children and Youth would like to thank the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation for recognizing the importance of providing educational opportunities for children with an encyclopedia set containing basic knowledge content in daily life, as well as knowledge and understanding of the Thai context in terms of diversity in science, society, culture, history, environment, economy, and so on. The content is divided into age groups for children and youth, with realistic illustrations that make it simple to learn and access information independently. It also instills the habit of reading in children and encourages them to study and research information independently.

The Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation provided 2,000 volumes of Encyclopedia books and three CDs to schools under the care of the C.C.F. Foundation for Children and Youth, totaling 200 schools. Students have received up to 15,768 people from such activities, which covered 21 provinces.

After the school received the Thai Encyclopedia book, it was made available in the library for students to study and learn on their own outside of class. Teachers also use the books to organize activities to promote children’s reading and writing in both main and supplementary subjects, as well as to prepare students to compete in academic skills so that they can benefit the most from their education.

Reflections from Teachers and Students “Thai Youth Encyclopedia Project”

Thank you to the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation for supporting books that will benefit both children and teachers. Thank you to the C.C.F. Foundation for Children and Youth and the C.C.F. Child Development Project for assisting as a mediator in coordinating the receipt of good and valuable books. The school will put it to good use.

Mr. Surasit Saibao
Director of Ban Na Pho School

I am delighted and grateful to the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation for providing Thai Encyclopedia for Youth books to the students of Ban Na Phrai School, allowing them to study, research, and make good use of their free time. Thank you so much.

Miss Areerat Saramano
Practice Teacher at Ban Na Phai School

I enjoy reading Thai encyclopedias about the history of building houses and the evolution of clothing from the past to the present. It made me realize how many things around us have different origins and eras. We can study and learn those details because we have a museum that houses stories, sample photographs, and even items that are still available for us to see.

The books received are extremely useful for both teaching and for children’s study and research. The book is interesting because it contains illustrations. Every year, the school sends children to a skills competition in which the school district uses encyclopedia books to help the students study and learn. I would like to thank the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation for donating useful books to the school, and I intend to use the books received to the greatest extent possible for the benefit of the students. Thank you.

Mrs. Kanchanarom Thatwisai
Coordinating Teacher of Ban Pak Dong School

Today, I received ten volumes of the Thai Encyclopedia for Children and Youth from the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation, which the C.C.F. Foundation donated to my school. My friends and I are extremely happy. Each Thai encyclopedia book contains different information. Today I read volume 26 and learned a lot about many things, but my favorite topics are Thai folk tales and animals in the mangrove forest ecosystem. I read it and gained knowledge and enjoyment. Every time I have some free time, I visit the library to read books. I’d like to thank the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation for donating books to my school.
