Nakhon Chai Si Hospital

The Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation has partnered with Nakhon Chai Si Hospital in Nakhon Pathom Province to spearhead a project dedicated to upgrading the dental department's air conditioning system. The primary objective of this initiative is to modernize the ventilation infrastructure to meet the rigorous standards of the Thai Dental Clinic Accreditation (TDCA), ensuring enhanced quality and safety in dental care. To support this mission, the Foundation has donated 1,963,316.25 THB for the renovation of five dental rooms. This improvement aims to provide the public with better access to high-quality healthcare services and is scheduled for completion within the first quarter of 2022.

Dental Clinic Air Conditioning System Improvement Project

Nakhon Chai Si Hospital

Improvement of the Air Conditioning System in the Dental Department, Nakhon Chaisi Hospital

From a patient's perspective, the dental room atmosphere can be intimidating. However, many may not realize that dental environments are actually high-risk areas. Standard dental procedures—such as fillings, scaling, or periodontal treatments—often generate fine airborne aerosols that disperse throughout the room. Without an efficient air conditioning and ventilation system, pathogenic germs can remain suspended in the air longer than usual, facilitating the spread of infection. This poses a significant health risk to both medical staff and patients.

Nakhon Chaisi Hospital in Nakhon Pathom is a community hospital equipped with capable dental professionals. Despite their expertise, limitations in the dental rooms' air management systems previously hindered their ability to provide standardized and sufficient care to meet public demand. Recognizing the hospital's vital role as a primary healthcare provider for the community, the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation provided 1,963,316 Baht to fund the upgrading of ventilation and air conditioning systems across five dental rooms, including the Special Dental Room and Dental Rooms 1-4. This support ensures the hospital can reach its full potential in providing high-quality healthcare access to the public.

To modernize the facilities and meet the Thai Dental Clinic Accreditation (TDCA) safety standards, the dental rooms were upgraded with air blowers equipped with HEPA filters, specialized ventilators, and air purifiers to ensure a constant supply of pure air. The system was designed and inspected in accordance with the standards of the Building and Environmental Standard Unit, Health Service Support Center No. 5 (Department of Health Service Support, Ministry of Public Health). Furthermore, the installation process was strictly monitored by hospital safety officers to ensure rigorous compliance. Consequently, the air conditioning and filtration system at Nakhon Chaisi Hospital is now recognized for its superior safety standards and is considered the finest dental air filtration system in Nakhon Pathom Province.
